It is called "The Knit Kit" and apparently she went into the knitting store and said "I don't know anything about knitting, I need some kind of gadget." And this is what they found! Its contents are out and on display for the purposes of photography, but it all comes in one handy ovular teal thing. There is a crochet hook (I don't have any! Should be useful for casting off/fixing mistakes), a tapestry needle, stitch markers, point protectors, TSA-approved folding scissors, a measuring tape, a thread cutter, and little push-button stitch counter on top. Fun!
It makes a nice actual knitting accessory, considering my knitting basket currently looks like this:
It is the Easter basket Brad's mum gave us, hence the chicks, and the random baggie thing Nana gave me for Christmas (decorated with golf clubs?) where I stash all my needles/pins/measuring tape/buttons/whatever. Oh the joys of scrounged items!
So I am excited about knitting again. I just wish I could start the things I wanna start, but I haven't got the right needles right now. I'm holding out for the Great Glebe Garage Sale, crossing my fingers that someone will be getting rid of a whole stash of old needles.
Then, oh the things I'll knit!
Oh, and since I'm sharing, I thought I'd add a few more:
This is one of my presents from Brad. He got me a butter bowl! This is the closed view, lid on. With a shotglass-vase for the lilacs we picked in the grocery store parking lot the other day. There was a WALL OF THEM.
I bet you're going, seriously? Your boyfriend got you a butter bowl for your birthday? Yes, yes he did. I did get excited about it in the store one day.
But really, these things are great! You put butter in the little inside bowl, a bit of water in the bottom of the big bowl, and pop the little one into the big one upside-down! It keeps the butter from getting too melty, but also keeps it nice and spreadable!
Here it is, little-bowl up. With lilacs. Don't you want to look at those lilacs more closely?
Oh, you do? Here then!
So lovely! The scent of just this little bit has filled the kitchen. Mmm.
Okay, over and out, gotta go bake muffins for camping!
