Inheritance

We went up to Huntsville the other weekend to do a bit of tending to Grannie and Grampa's old house before the next renter moves in. Mum tried to pawn off a few things on me: Grampa's mounted moose antlers and china, for example. And while these are things I would like to have one day, right now I don't need or have room for nice china, nor do I have a garage/basement to decorate with antlers. I suppose they could adorn the walls here, but it's not really my style.

The one thing she DID give me about which I am super excited is this:

It is Grannie's sewing machine! Oh! How nice!
It's so so so heavy, but comes with its own handy-dandy carrying case. I think mum must have tended to it a few  years ago, because it works just great. It's got all the bells and whistles that the old machines I learned on in middle school had, and it was kinda fun this morning remember how it all works.

So, I am pumped to start sewing with it! I can fix some seams that have ripped, make new pretty things, and, most importantly, make my hallowe'en costume! Will update with that soon.
