Knitting and Gardening

We started our plants late. I'd like to say it was due to a cold spring, but really we just dropped the ball.

The spring plants are done, for the most part. The Jack-in-the-Pulpit has gone to seed.

They look remarkably alien.

But, I'm pleased to say, we haven't bought lettuce in a week. Lettuce!

Crunchy and delicious. Please ignore the weeds and the fact that it desperately wants to be thinned.
It is exciting going out to the front yard and picking some leaves to put on your sandwich.

I will be more excited for the tomatoes.

Cherries.
Beefsteaks

Early Boys

Lovely little things. Even the pepper plant is starting to fruit!

Mmmm.

And the beans are all a-flower.

Happy, if slightly crowded, garden.

Also, I have been knitting at an enjoyably relaxed pace now that No-Longer-Secret-Project is done. What was it that I knit frantically for an entire month?

Hexagons!

So many hexagons. I made Brad a blanket shaped like the game Settlers of Catan (the 5-6 player expansion to get a bit more size).

I'm very happy with it, the madness was well worth the trouble.

And finally,

Kitty!
