They made the whole house seem so much more cheerful, even with dreary weather and persistent icey-snow.
But how warm it's become! I've been seeing the tip-tops of crocuses in garden containers around the neighbourhood; I must remember to plant some in the fall for next spring.
This past weekend we got out our bikes and barbecued chicken, and next week they're calling for 20 degrees! As much as I like winter, it was a terribly disappointing one, and I'm ready for sunshine and t-shirts.
(Now watch, I'll have brought down a freak snowstorm upon us.)
