While browsing the patterns on Ravelry last night (they don't update fast enough for my procrastination urges!) I had a brainwave.
RUGS!
The new apartment will have a bunch of hardwood floors and we have no rugs to cover them. Also we just threw out the bath rug because it was... disgusting. I haven't washed it in years. Ew.
It just straight up never occurred to me that I could knit rugs! It was like the stereotypical sudden cloudbreak, where everything is clearer and brighter and the world is a new place. I could KNIT rugs!
The inspiration for this brainwave was a pattern from this site which involves rag knitting. Rag knitting is so cool! And I've got some sheets that will do nicely. My old bed is a kiddie-sized single bed. It is tiny. I have a set of sheets that I got in first year that were 'long' because dorm beds are supposedly longer than normal beds (they weren't.) These sheets have never fit any bed I've used, and seeing as I'm currently and for the forseeable future sleeping in a queen, they won't have use for quite some time.
So! I can rip up my sheets and make a rug out of them! Oh I am excited to be done papers and to be able to do ridiculous things like this. :D
